For years DoréDevelopment have performed mirror counseling for Bang & Olufsen A/S, primarily within security and Open Source license management. From the spring of 2009 DoréDevelopment has performed larger and more development-oriented tasks within embedded Linux platform development at Bang & Olufsen A/S, the list below are just some examples of these tasks: Software image download tool (Windows/Linux) Software image creation tool Linux file system optimization (init, udev, jffs2, etc.) U-boot debugging and optimization Linux driver optimization (GPIO, MTD) Support in general cross-compiling (build system, ICU, etc.) Wifi integration and test Linux power management optimization/testing Linux performance optimization General GNU/Linux Support How was the cooperation executed? Cooperation between Bang & Olufsen A/S and DoréDevelopment has always been dominated by the actual technical needs Bang & Olufsen A/S had at the given point in time. In the first years there where a number of isolated sparring sessions where Bang & Olufsen A/S wanted to challenge some technical ideas and issues with some "freesh eyes". In those sparring sessions DoréDevelopment worked as a pure external supplier of critical comments and new ideas, where Bang & Olufsen A/S themself continued the development afterwards. Since DoréDevelopment started to deliver real development work the nature of collaboration changed into a continuous and close cooperation between Bang & Olufsen A/S and DoréDevelopment. Cooperation is made as a combination of on-site and off-site days, where DoréDevelopment have resources at Bang & Olufsen A/S in Struer in some days of the week and works from Hadsund the remainder of the week. A process which is of great value to Bang & Olufsen A/S, as the achieve a high degree of sparring with internal developers in Struer, while gaining sparring and knowledge into the projects from DoréDevelopment's resources in Hadsund, that is not directly working on Bang & Olufsen development.
